It was supposed to be a SILENT auction - the noise was from the floor of bidders, little done silently! so much fun to see the competition and the items of greatest interest!! a huge thank you to our auction sponsors who donated items that made it such great fun and such a success !

Thanks everybody for the support, I just came back from Makuluni village at the Monjole Community Primary School where I went to discuss with stakeholders on Suzie and Neisha's visit.
ReplyDeleteEveryone is excited: The pupils, teachers, School Committees, the community at large with the Village Chief, they are all excited. Most of them, the pair of shoe they received was the only one they had had for the two year period and most them are almost tattered. However, their heart is still very grateful that someone from as far as Australia, thought of them and worked hard to bring shoes to their feet. They are aware how difficult it is to bring so huge a consignment from Australia to Makuluni and Monjole primary School in particular. Most of them, for the first time, they experienced the dignity and self esteem as they walked in shoes. Some were prevented from soil worms and others from being hurt. To the children in the village, they discovered that shoes were part of one's clothing, you can see from the pictures, some got freaked out with the gears on their feet.
As we await Suzie and Neisha's visit, like baby Prince in the picture, all we say is BRAVO Aussie buddies!
